Forward Your Calls

Call Forwarding - All Calls

72# to answer your calls on your wireless or another phone

• Once on, it stays active until you turn it off
• Calls are forwarded until you're ready to take them on your regular phone
• Make outgoing calls as you normally do even when incoming calls are forwarded

If you want to:	Do this:
Turn on Call Forwarding	Press 72#, then after the dial tone, dial the forward-to number. If the phone is answered, Call Forwarding is on. (If the phone isn't answered immediately, go through the steps again and when you hear short tones, Call Forwarding is on).
Turn off Call Forwarding	Press 73# (at dial tone). When you hear short tones, Call Forwarding is off.

Hints:

• On a rotary or dial pulse telephone, omit #.
• If calls are forwarded to a number outside your local calling area, usage or long distance charges may apply to your account, not your caller's.
• If calls are forwarded to a number with AT&T Voice Mail, you may need to change your greeting.

Did you know?
You may hear a short ring alerting you that a call has been forwarded. You will not be able to answer it, as it has been forwarded to the number you have designated.

Call Forwarding Busy Line

Provide callers with a live person or your voice mail message instead of a busy signal

• Callers automatically sent to the number you specified
• Perfect for businesses with multiple employees answering the phone
• Never miss an important call again
• Customer Control of Call Forwarding Busy Line
• Activate and disable your Call Forwarding Busy Line feature
• Choose when your callers will be sent to a specified number
• Works in tandem with Call Forwarding Busy Line (see above)
• Give your business the flexibility of routing calls when and where you want

If you want to:	Do this:
Turn on Customer Control	Press 82# at dial tone.
Turn on Customer Control during a call (available in some areas)	Click the switchhook to put your call on hold. Press 82# at dial tone. At the second dial tone, click the switchhook to reconnect to your original call.
Turn off Customer Control	Press 83# at dial tone.

Note: On a rotary or dial pulse telephone, omit #.

Call Forwarding - Don't Answer 

Send incoming calls to a different number when you're unavailable

• Choose the number of times your phone rings before a call is forwarded1
• Callers are sent to the number you specified
• Assign a co-worker to answer incoming calls when you're in a meeting

When you order this feature, just tell your AT&T Sales Associate how many times you want the phone to ring before forwarding.

Call Forwarding - Don't Answer Ring Control

Control how many times your phone will ring before calls are forwarded

• Set the number of rings from two to nine
• Callers are sent to the number you specified
• Assign a co-worker to answer incoming calls when you're in a meeting

If you want to:	Do this:
Change the number of rings	Press *47 In some areas, you will enter the number of rings that you want — any number from 2-9. In other areas, you will enter a code that represents the number of rings you want. See the table below for these codes. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 12 18 24 30 36 42 48 54
	When you hear the dial tone after the short tones, hang up — the number of rings has been changed.

Hint: If you subscribe to Call Waiting, changing the number of rings also changes the length of time before a call is forwarded. Your caller may hear an extra ring due to connection timing.

Call Forwarding Preferred

Designate up to six callers to forward to a different number

• Once on, it stays active until you turn it off
• Calls are forwarded until you're ready to take them on your regular phone
• Make outgoing calls as you normally do even when incoming calls are forwarded

If you want to:	Do this:
Turn on Call Forwarding — Preferred	Press *63. Follow voice instructions to enter "forward-to" number. (In some areas, you must then press 3 to turn your service on).
Add a number to your list	Press #. (In some areas, you must wait for the tone after pressing 3.) Dial the number you want to add, then press #).
Add last number that called your list	Press #. Press 0 1 #.
Review your list	Press 1.
Remove a number right after hearing it (while reviewing your list)	Press 0 7.
Review Instructions	Press 0.
Remove a number from the list	Press *, dial the number you want to remove, then press *.
Remove all numbers from the list	Press 0 8.
Remove all private numbers from the list	Press 0 9.
Turn off Call Forwarding — Preferred	Press * 8 3. (In some areas, you must then press 3 to turn your service off).

Hints:

• If one of your preferred numbers is also on your Call Block list, turn off Call Block before using Call Forwarding — Preferred.
• If you forward to a number outside your local calling area, usage or long distance charges may apply to your account, not your caller's account.
• Numbers you add may be labeled "private" on your list.

Remote Access to Call Forwarding

Redirect business calls from a remote location

• Once on, it stays active until you turn it off
• Calls are forwarded until you're ready to take them on your regular phone
• Make outgoing calls as you normally do even when incoming calls are forwarded

Quick-Start Directions Forward your calls from any touch-tone telephone.

1. Dial your special access number — refer to your order confirmation letter for number.
2. Dial your 7- or 10-digit telephone number.
3. Dial your PIN followed by # — refer to your order confirmation letter for PIN.
4. Press 7 2 #. (In some areas, you will be prompted to press 1 to confirm1).
5. Dial the 'forward-to' number, including 1 + area code if needed, followed by #.
6. Follow the voice instructions to confirm or change the forward-to number.

¹In some areas, you will not be prompted to press 1 to confirm. In these areas, if the party to whom you're forwarding your calls answers the call, your calls are forwarded. If the call is not answered, you will need to repeat steps 1-6. When you repeat the steps and hear confirming tones, your calls have been forwarded.

If you want to:	Do this:
Turn off Call Fowarding remotely	Dial your special access number — refer to your order confirmation letter for number. Dial your 7- or 10-digit telephone number. Dial your PIN followed by # — refer to your order confirmation letter for PIN. Press 7 3 #. (In some areas, you're required to press 1 to confirm).
Forward calls from your own phone	Press 7 2 #, then after the second dial tone, dial the forward-to number. If the phone is answered, Call Forwarding is on. (If the phone isn't answered, go through the steps again and when you hear short tones, Call Forwarding is on.)
Turn off Call Forwarding from your own phone	Press 7 3 #. When you hear short tones, Call Forwarding is cancelled.

Hints:

• If you forget or lose your PIN, call the AT&T Service Center. For your protection, the new PIN will be mailed to you.
• To change calls from one forward-to number to another, first cancel Call Forwarding. Then forward calls to new destination.
• If you make an error when you're using Remote Access, you may be disconnected. Simply hang up, call back, and try again.

Note: If a call is forwarded to a number outside your local calling area, usage or long-distance charges may apply to your account, not your caller's account.

Screen Your Calls

RingMaster^® Service

Know who's calling with a distinctive ring tone

• Designate a unique ring tone for incoming calls
• Main number — one long ring
• 1st RingMaster number — two short rings
• 2nd RingMaster number — short-long-short ring
• Your AT&T representative assigns up to two RingMaster numbers for every one of your main numbers
• Ability to separate business calls from personal calls
• RingMaster telephone numbers share one line, but it's easy to tell which number is ringing by a special ring pattern

Hints:

• If you subscribe to Call Waiting, you will hear the same difference in call waiting tones.
• Wait until you hear a complete ring pattern before you answer.
• One subscription to Call Forwarding serves both your main and RingMaster telephone numbers — either forward all numbers to the same telephone number (available in certain areas) or forward the main number only (your RingMaster numbers ring through as usual).
• Distinctive ringing is heard only at your end — the ring sounds normal to your caller.
• Distinctive ringing is not heard on forwarded calls.
• Directory listings are provided free of charge for your main and RingMaster numbers.
• To report a problem, give AT&T repair service the main telephone number no matter which number is having trouble.
• Turn any special features on and off in the usual way.
• Although you have more than one telephone number, you still have only one line and one conversation.
• If you have AT&T Voice Mail, the main number and RingMaster numbers share a messaging mailbox. If you add the Submailbox feature, the caller can leave messages for individuals.

Call Block

*60 to avoid unwanted calls from nagging or harassing callers

• Block calls from up to six specific numbers
• When blocked callers try to connect, your phone won't ring
• Caller hears message notifying them that their number has been blocked

If you want to:	Do this:
Turn on Call Block	Press * 6 0, then follow the voice instructions. (In some areas, you must then press 3 to turn your service on).
Add a number to Call Block list	1. Press # 6 0, then press #. 2. Dial the number you want to add, then press #.
Add last number that called to your list	Press #, then press 0 1 #.
Review your list	Press 1.
Remove a number right after hearing it (while reviewing your list)	Press 0 7.
Review instructions	Press 0.
Remove a number from the list	Press *, dial the number you want to remove, then press *.
Remove all the numbers from the list	Press 0 8.
Remove all private numbers from the list	Press 0 9.
Turn off Call Block	Press * 8 0. (In some areas, you must press 3 to turn your service off.)

Hints:

• Callers with numbers you've listed will be notified their calls have been rejected, but you won't even hear the phone ring when they call.
• Unknown callers and out-of-area calls can't be added to the Call Block list.
• If a number on your Call Block list is also on your Call Selector or Preferred Call Forwarding list, Call Block takes precedence.
• If a number on your Call Block list is not the main number for a caller's RingMaster service, calls from that number will not be blocked.
• Call Block will not block calls from wireless telephones, most coin telephones, or operator-assisted calls, and may not work if the incoming call is from a telephone number in a multi-line hunt group.

Caller ID Deluxe

Know which customer or vendor is calling before picking up the phone

• Answer the calls you want, ignore the ones you don't wish to answer
• Logs all of your incoming calls
• Added peace of mind knowing you're not getting interrupted during important meetings

If you want to:	Do this:
Use Caller ID	Wait for one full ring of your incoming call — then check your Caller ID unit for name and phone number.

Hints:

• If your Caller ID unit displays messages or symbols you don't understand, check the owner's manual provided with your equipment.
• If your caller is using a privacy feature, the name and number may not be displayed.
• AT&T public or semi-public telephones display the words "pay phone", but business-owned pay phones may display the name of the business.
• If a telephone number is new and not yet in the AT&T database, the display shows the number but not the name.
• If you have Call Waiting, Caller ID doesn't display information for any calls that come through when you're on the phone, unless you also subscribe to Enhanced Caller ID.
• Caller ID works only for direct-dialed calls between phone lines that have the service capability and between central offices that can transmit Caller ID information.
• The name displayed is based on the listing in the AT&T database. Know which customer or vendor is calling before picking up the phone.
• Answer the calls you want, ignore the ones you don't wish to answer.
• Logs all of your incoming calls.
• Added peace of mind knowing you're not getting interrupted during important meetings.

Note: Caller ID — Number Delivery gives you all of the above features with the exception of viewing the caller's name.

Enhanced Caller ID - Name and Number Delivery

Never miss an important call when you're already on the phone

• Answer the calls you want, ignore the ones you don't wish to answer
• Logs all of your incoming calls
• Added peace of mind knowing you're not getting interrupted during important meetings

If you want to:	Do this:
Use Enhanced Caller ID	Wait for one full ring of your incoming call — then check your Caller ID unit for name and phone number.
View numbers when you're already on the phone	Check the display unit to see the phone number and name of the waiting caller. You can either answer or ignore the call.
End original call and answer waiting call	Hang up. Once the phone rings, answer to connect with the waiting caller.
Place original call on hold and answer waiting call	Press your flash key or your phone's switchhook. Repeat to swap calls again. Both calls remain private.
Turn off Call Waiting prior to making a call (available in certain areas)	Press * 7 01 at dial tone, then dial your call. Anyone trying to reach your business will get a busy signal. Once you hang up your original call, Call Waiting turns back on automatically.
Turn off Call Waiting while on a call (available in certain areas)	Press your flash key or your phone's switchhook. At dial tone, press * 7 0.1 You'll reconnect with your original caller.

Hints:

Enhanced Caller ID — with Anonymous Call Rejection (ACR)

All the benefits of Enhanced Caller ID, plus the ability to block unidentified callers

If you want to:	Do this:
Avoid calls from people not identified	Turn on Anonymous Call Rejection (ACR) by pressing * 7 7.1 ACR stays on until you turn it off. Callers hear a message telling them to hang up, unblock delivery of their phone number and call again. (Note: ACR only works for "private" or blocked callers, not those who are unknown or unavailable.)
Turn off ACR	Press * 8 7.1

Hints:

• If you turn on ACR and Call Selector and a privacy call comes in from a number that's on your Call Selector list, the call isn't rejected.
• If you turn on ACR and Preferred Call Forwarding and a privacy call comes in from a number on your Preferred Call Forwarding list, the call is forwarded.
• The name displayed is based on the listing in the AT&T database.

On a rotary phone, dial 1177 to turn on ACR; dial 1187 to turn off ACR.

Repeat Dialing

*66 to redial automatically when you get a busy signal

• Repeat Dialing tries the busy number for up to 30 minutes
• When the line's free, you'll hear a special short-short-long ring
• Pick up your phone and treat the call as if you just dialed the person

If you want to:	Do this:
Turn on Repeat Dialing (Initiate Request)	Hang up when you hear a busy signal. Pick up and press * 6 6 at dial tone.
Turn off Repeat Dialing (Cancel Request)	Press * 8 6 1 and listen for announcement.

• If calls are dialed to a number outside your local calling area, usage or long distance charges may apply.

Did you know?
Repeat Dialing works for more than one busy number at a time and signals you when one is free (however, you won't know which number it is until you answer).

On a rotary phone, dial 1166 to turn on Repeat Dialing; dial 1186 to turn off Repeat Dialing.

Speed Calling 8

Assign a convenient access number for up to 8 numbers

• Save time — just dial your stored numbers using a one-touch access number
• Storeup to 8 telephone numbers
• Program your primary contacts such as your top clients and vendors

If you want to:	Do this:
Record/change your speed calling numbers	Press 7 4 #. After the second dial tone, dial a speed calling code (2-9). Dial a phone number to designate for that particular code. Include 1+ area code (if necessary). The number is stored when you hear short tones. (If you don't get confirming tones, go through the steps again and when you hear the short tines, the code has been assigned).
Speed dial a call	At the dial tone, press the one-digit speed calling code followed by #.

Speed Calling 30

Assign a convenient 2-digit code for up to 30 numbers

• Save time — just dial your stored numbers using an easy-to-remember 2-digit code
• Store up to 30 telephone numbers
• Program your primary contacts such as your top clients and vendors

If you want to:	Do this:
Record/change your speed calling numbers	Press 7 5 #. After the second dial tone, dial a speed calling code (20-49). Dial a phone number to designate for that particular code. Include 1+ area code (if necessary). The number is stored when you hear short tones. (If you don't get confirming tones, go through the steps again and when you hear the short tines, the code has been assigned).
Speed dial a call	At the dial tone, press the two-digit speed calling code followed by #.

On a rotary or dial pulse telephone, omit #.

Star 98 Access

*98 to open to your voice mailbox instantly
(requires Voice Mail Service for Business)

• Press * 9 8, and you're immediately connected to your voice mailbox1
• Must dial from the telephone number to which the voice mail service is connected
• Access both new and saved messages

Hints:

• If you dial *98 to access your mailbox and get a message requesting your mailbox number and password/passcode, t he voice mail number identification link may be temporarily out of order. If the link is down and you provide your mailbox number and password/passcode, you can retrieve messages. Otherwise, please try again later.

Did you know?

Star 98 Access cannot connect you directly to your voice mailbox if you have a privacy feature on your telephone line that blocks delivery of your name and number. Just dial * 8 2 to turn off the privacy feature, then * 9 8 to gain easy access to your mailbox.

In some areas, Star 98 Access cannot be programmed as a Speed Calling entry and may not be compatible with BusyConnect^® service and Repeat Dialing. This feature is not compatible with Centrex^® Service.

RingMaster^® Service

Conference with two different business associates at the same time

If you want to:	Do this:
Initiate Three-Way Calling	Press your flash key or your phone's switchhook to place your first call on hold. At the dial tone, dial the second person (you may talk privately with the second person while original call is on hold). If you get a busy signal or no answer on your second call, just click the flash key or switchhook twice to continue your original call.
Connect all three lines	Press your flash key or your phone's switchhook again.
End a Three-Way Call	To drop one party, just press the switchhook on your phone once. Or, anyone on the call can simply hang up, leaving the other two connected.

Hints:

• If calls are not local, long distance or expanded local calling rates may apply for Three-Way Calling feature.

Did you know?
If you're on a Three-Way Call and you have Call Waiting, you won't hear a Call Waiting tone when another call comes in. Instead, the new caller hears a busy signal, or the call may be forwarded if you have Call Forwarding — Busy Line.

Three-Way Calling with Transfer

Transfer an incoming call to another line, or add another person to a call in progress

If you want to:	Do this:
Transfer an incoming call to another line	With the original call on the line, click the switchhook and listen for short tones. At the dial tone, dial the "transfer-to" number. To transfer the call without announcing the transfer, hang up before the other phone is answered. To talk to the other person before completing the transfer, stay on the line, announce the transfer, then hang up. If the number is busy or there is no answer, click the switchhook twice to reconnect to the original call.
Initiate Three-Way Calling	Press your flash key or your phone's switchhook to place your first call on hold. At the dial tone, dial the second person (you may talk privately with the second person while original call is on hold). If you get a busy signal or no answer on your second call, just click the flash key or switchhook twice to continue your original call.
Connect all three lines	Press your flash key or your phone's switchhook again.
End a Three-Way Call	To drop one party, just press the switchhook on your phone once. Or, anyone on the call can simply hang up, leaving the other two connected.

Hints:

• If calls are not local, long distance or expanded local calling rates may apply for Three-Way Calling feature.
• If you hang up and the other two parties continue to speak, you will incur any long distance charges. These charges stop once the remaining parties disconnect.

Avoid Missing Important Calls

Call Return - *69

*69 to find out who last called you.

• Stores the number of the last person who called
• Automatically dials the number for you
• Identifies callers who do not leave a message

If you want to:	Do this:
Use Call Return	Press *69. (The phone number, date, and time of the last incoming call are announced).
Return the call	Press 1 (or hang up if you do not want to return the call).
Turn off Call Return	Press *89. After the announcement, hang up.

Hints:

• If the other phone is busy, you'll hear an announcement. Call Return tries the number for up to 30 minutes, and you're still able to make and receive other calls. When your call is ready, you'll receive a special short-short-long ring on your line. Just answer your phone, and the other phone rings to complete your call.
• A Call Return request can be initiated for more than one telephone number at the same time.

Did you know?
Call Return will not return calls that are marked private. You'll get a fast busy signal or an announcement if Call Return can't return a call for any reason. And, if calls are returned to a number outside your local calling area, usage or long distance charges may apply to your account.

Call Selector

*61 to give certain callers a special ring

• Announces up to six selected callers
• Phone gives a special ring
• Update your selected callers at any time

If you want to:	Do this:
Turn on Call Selector	Press *61, then follow the voice instructions. (In some areas, you must also press 3 to turn your service on).
Add a number to Call Selector List	Press *61, then press #. Dial the number you want added, then press #.
Add the last number that called to your list	Press #, then press 0 1 #.
Review your list	Press 1.
Remove a number right after you hear it (while reviewing your list)	Press 0 7.
Review the instructions	Press 0.
Remove a number from the list	Press *, dial the number you want to remove, then press *.
Remove all numbers from the list	Press 0 8.
Remove all private numbers from the list	Press 0 9.
Turn off Call Selector	Press * 8 1. (In some areas, you must also press 3 to turn your service off).

Hints:

• Call Selector also works with Call Waiting. You can distinguish calls from numbers on your Call Selector list by the distinctive tones. You'll hear a few short tones.
• If one of your Call Selector numbers is also on your Call Block list, turn off Call Block first or calls from that number will be rejected.

Call Tracing

*57 to stop harassing callers

• Each time used, the AT&T Annoyance Call Center receives a message
• Telephone number, date, and time of call are documented (if call is traceable)
• Trace starts right away (as soon as you initiate it)

If you want to:	Do this:
Trace a call	Press * 5 7 1instantly after receiving the call, and listen to the voice instructions. Plus write down the date and time you received the call.

Hints:

• In an emergency, call your local law enforcement agency immediately.
• Contact your local law enforcement agency for further investigation. It's not necessary to contact the AT&T Annoyance Call Center (ACC). The ACC does not take deterrent action on your behalf. However, we will release your trace information to your law enforcement agency for investigation. You may have your law enforcement agency contact the ACC for further information. To contact the ACC, go to contact.bellsouth.com/acc or call 1.888.966.6222. Then identify yourself as a Call Tracing customer.
• You can use Call Return before or after you use Call Tracing.

On a rotary phone, dial 1157.

Call Waiting

Find out when an important business call comes in when you're already on the line

• A short tone announces new call
• Put current call on hold, end your original call, or simply ignore the waiting call
• In some areas, your phone rings if you disconnect while someone is on hold

If you want to:	Do this:
End original call, and answer waiting call	Hang up — when the phone rings, answer the new call.
Place original call on hole, answer waiting call	Press your flash key or your phone's switchhook. Repeat to swap calls again. Both calls remain private.
Turn off Call Waiting prior to making call (available in some areas)	Press * 7 0 after dial tone. After second dial tone, dial your call. (Call Waiting is automatically turned back on once you hang up).
Turn off Call Waiting during a call (available in some areas)	Press your flash key or your phone's switchhook. After dial tone, press * 7 0. Press your flash key or your phone's switchhook to reconnect to original call. (Call Waiting is automatically turned back on after you hang up).

Hints:

• In certain areas, if you hang up while someone is on hold, your phone rings. Pick up the phone to end that call.
• Call Waiting may not be compatible with all telephones.
• You can't turn off Call Waiting while on one call and another call is waiting.
